Welcome to the latest installment of the High and the Low, where we look at the highest priced and the lowest priced houses in a particular Long Island community's market. Today, we focus on Patchogue:
Most expensive home on the market: $799,000
The highest priced home is a four-bedroom, two bathroom Colonial nestled on the edge of Palace Lake. In addition to the 2,500-square-foot home, there's a two-car garage, a greenhouse and a dock on the 1.5-acre property. Debra Remien of Coldwell Banker Bellbrook Realty (631-289-1400) says, “We just love this listing, it’s one of our favorite homes.” While the owners just recently accepted an offer, they are not in contract yet. Property taxes are $12,752. The home is co-listed with James Clifton of Coldwell Banker Bellbrook Realty.
Least expensive home on the market: $149,000
The lowest priced home is a two-bedroom, one-bathroom ranch with a full basement on a 50-foot-by-148-foot lot. Taxes are $5,402. The home has been on the market 28 days, and was just reduced from $169,000. Catherine LaMonica of Century 21 LaMonica Realty (631-289-5050) says, “It’s a stone’s throw to the Village and is in the Democratic Hill section of Patchogue.”
