Turn-of-the-century touches to classic Colonial in Glen Cove
This neoclassical Colonial in Glen Cove, on the market for $1.329 million, was built in 1900 and has many turn-of-the-last-century details. The button used to call servants is still working, and the light switches are original, as are the wood floors and the thick, brass hardware. While the kitchen has been modernized, it still has an antique feel, with the sink, the hood over the stove and a built-in cupboard all from 1900. A butler's pantry was added in 1935.
"Everything is in perfect condition," says listing agent Larraine Tassis of Daniel Gale Sotheby's International Realty.
The four-bedroom, 4½-bathroom home is far from old and fusty, however. There is a decidedly modern home theater, along with a large art studio on the third floor.
