Villa Maria, a waterfront estate in Water Mill on the market for $72 million, has gone to contract, the listing agent says.
The 15-acre property, an estate owned by late shoe designer Vince Camuto, includes a roughly 20,000-square-foot main house with 11 bedrooms. It had been on and off the market since 2008.
The property brokers, Zach and Cody Vichinsky of Bespoke Real Estate, were not permitted to disclose the selling price or information regarding the buyers.
“A home of this nature necessitates a specific type of person to be able to appreciate the magnitude and the price, and that person has been found,” Zach Vichinsky says.
The house underwent a six-year renovation beginning in 2005 that the listing says recaptured its 1920s grandeur while also “molding it into a 21st century estate home with all modern amenities.”
The main house, with 12 full bathrooms and four half-baths, includes features such as a triple-story foyer, a 2,700-square-foot master suite with six rooms, a white marble kitchen and a lower level with a spa and wine cellar.
The property, which also includes a carriage house and guest cottage, includes 1,100 feet of bulkhead and views of Mecox Bay. Composed of four separate lots, the estate features a tennis court, 68- by 30-foot heated gunite pool and two pool pavilions.
Zach Vichinsky says the estate is “one of the most iconic properties in the Hamptons, if not the East Coast and majority of the country, for that matter.”
