The Water Mill estate of real estate principal and chef Andrew Borrok has gone on the market for $58.5 million.
The kitchen alone cost $3 million and was designed by the famed Mark Stech-Novak, according to the listing with Sotheby’s International Realty, which goes on to say that it includes “a prep kitchen with walk-in refrigeration, bakery with artisan deck ovens and a finishing kitchen upstairs with under-counter refrigeration, heated pass counters, custom Moltemi stove (used in Michelin three-star restaurants) and latest Rational commercial combi (steam/convection oven).”
And in the foyer? “A grand, double-hearth staircase in cast bronze, and silver and gold leaf, with an early 19th-century, stained glass skylight."
Built in 2005, the neo-classical-style, automated house features a custom-designed copper roof and has eight bedrooms and eight bathrooms, as well as eight fireplaces.
The four-acre property fronts Hayground Cove and has a heated gunite pool with a waterfall edge as well as a tennis court, a koi pond and a four-car garage.
Borrok used to co-own Manhattan's 14 Penn Plaza. He has hosted many soirees at the waterfront estate, including a wine tasting in 2007 for friend, actress and Bridgehampton resident Lorraine Bracco’s Rosato wine.
Property records show that Borrok purchased the property in 2003 for $3,687,500. Real estate records show that the land was once been owned by the Sisters of Mercy of Brooklyn.
