A Westhampton Beach co-op on the market for $769,000 was once owned by Meshulam Riklis, a businessman who used to be married to actress and singer Pia Zadora.
The one-bedroom, two-bath unit has a private terrace and is one of just four end units directly on the beach at the 46-unit La Coquille development, which features an oceanfront swimming pool. At 750 square feet, it is the largest unit in the complex.
“The deck is literally right on the beach,” says listing agent Steven Rosmarin of Douglas Elliman Real Estate.
Zadora actually never lived there: Riklis was still married to Judy Stern, his first wife.
“They were gone by the time he married Pia Zadora,” says Rosmarin.
Despite the fact that he was one of the first co-op owners of La Coquille, Riklis attained notoriety around the development when he’d arrive by helicopter, landing in its parking lot. To appease the co-op board, he started landing on the beach.
