Why it’s for sale. Breeds, 54, works as a computer consultant and is looking to relocate.

Breeds has lived in the 1921 Colonial for 11 years. “It’s a very comfortable house ... [and] has a welcoming front entry with an original open porch,” she says. “This house has wonderful cross-ventilation . . . [During the summer] I hardly use air-conditioning [units] because of cooling from ceiling fans and shade from nearby trees.”

The house has 1½ baths and three-bedrooms with a first-floor den that can be used as a fourth bedroom, Linda says. Recent enhancements include an updated bathroom, new roofs on the house and detached garage and a remodeled kitchen with stainless-steel appliances, granite countertops and a limestone-tile backsplash.

A closet was re-created into what Linda calls a “desk nook,” where she has a quiet and private place to work. The house is on a 4,550-square-foot parcel not far from beach areas. “Long Beach is a 15-minute drive away,” she says A passionate gardener, Linda has enjoyed beautifying the property. She chats more about the details:

“When I first moved here, the gardens were bare. I’ve planted perennials and annuals throughout . . . The rear yard is lovely --  very private and great for entertaining.”
