Why it's for sale: Maria, 47, a former executive assistant with Citigroup, and Anthony, 47, a plumber, say they're selling because they've built another home in Glen Head.

It's no coincidence that this 3,200-square-foot home is owned by a plumber and happens to have three bathrooms, radiant floor heating, a heated garage and both cold and hot water spigots outside. The Ghersis' next home will have radiant floor heating on all levels. Maria says:

"When we moved in 16 years ago, we did a complete renovation. There is not one piece of original Sheetrock here. We gutted and added a master bedroom and bath. There're three master bedrooms upstairs, each with a full bath. . . . The whole first floor has radiant floor heating. It's toasty. . . . I love my master bath. It's huge -- there's plenty of room. I have a huge closet for makeup. . . .

"I love my formal living room. It's off a courtyard. It's perfect for a pool party. At my daughter's first birthday party, we had 130 people inside and out with a stage for dancing. Even though the property isn't huge, it's very functional. It's manicured and usable, which makes a big difference. It's a great house for outside entertaining. . . . The schools are the best and we have the best neighbors. I wish we could take them all with us."
