Why it's for sale: Tony, 60, an accountant, and Cathy, 59, a teacher, say they want to downsize and are buying their son's home in Farmingdale before he relocates out of state for his job.

The Citrolos bought their 2,100-square-foot home 31 years ago. Tony talks about the property:

"The home is very open but still cozy and comfortable. When you walk in, there's a nice big open den area. There are French doors into the Florida room, which has two skylights and sliding glass doors to the lower level of a bi-level deck, where we have a hot tub. The upper level of the deck is off the kitchen. We have a barbecue and table out there that could easily sit eight. . .

"We redid the kitchen about seven years ago with granite countertops, stainless steel appliances and new cabinets. The living room has a nice high vaulted ceiling with a wide open airy feel. When we added the Florida room, we also added another bedroom. So three bedrooms are upstairs -- the master plus two more bedrooms, which have vaulted ceilings...

"The neighborhood is great. You can walk to the elementary school. Old Bethpage is near the Long Island Expressway, the Seaford Oyster Bay Expressway and Northern State Parkway and ten minutes from three Long Island Rail Road train stations. You're secluded but still amid everything. This home has been good to us, and we've been good to it. It's in move-in condition."
