Why it’s for sale Nelson and Mannetta say it’s time to downsize. They’ve purchased a condo on the South Shore and make frequent visits to their other condo in Florida. Suzanne, 62, is an insurance broker, and Patrick, 60, is a fitness trainer.

Suzanne has lived in this home for 39 years. Nowadays, the appeal of “not having to worry about yard work” has transformed the couple to condo dwellers, she says. Every room in this 1950 home has been been redone in recent years, she adds. Enhancements include an updated kitchen and bath as well as new siding and a roof. Suzanne’s favorite space is the living room, where there is an added bay window. She says she enjoys looking out at the landscaped backyard, which has a patio and is a “wonderful place for summer entertaining,” she says. Located in the Town of Babylon, there is easy access to Gilgo Beach, Cedar Beach and other town beaches. The three-bedroom, one-bath house is on a family-oriented block, she says. “I have fond memories of raising my two sons here,” Suzanne says. She chats more about the home’s assets:

“There’s radiant-heated flooring on the first floor and it’s warm and cozy throughout the winter ... I think two of its biggest pluses are the low taxes and a detached two-car garage, which is very rarely seen on a Cape.”
