It sounds like the Loggias have taken care of their home and its accessory apartment, as Chris explains:
“The big positive about this property is the income from the apartment. It pays our taxes. And if you have a boat, you just jump on and go out. The yard is nicely landscaped. By June, the flowers are out and the grass is green.
"It’s a real entertainer’s home. We have people over for weekends during July, August and September. For 20 years, I’ve been right on top of taking care of the house. I devote at least four to five hours a week. "The inside is kept as clean as though I was walking in to buy it. . . .
"We have a formal dining room and living room and an eat-in kitchen. The upper level has a nice deck off the dining room and a great view of the Bergen Point Golf Course. In the nice weather, the golf course looks beautiful.
"The backyard has a pavered patio, and the tenants have their own area. The dock is power washed every year. During Sandy, we had 2 inches of water in the apartment.
"I’ve since put in two pumps in the crawl space, and they automatically turn on if water starts getting in. It’s a boater’s paradise and I’m definitely going to miss it.”
