Why it’s for sale. Janet, 56, who has five adult children, says she is ready to downsize.

Hosting family parties in this 12-room Colonial is among Healy’s favorite memories. “It’s been the focal point,” she says. The house, which she has lived in for about 12 years, features wood floors, French doors, a sunroom and a three-room master suite with a balcony. There are another five bedrooms and 3½ bathrooms.

Healy says the exterior can use a painting, the roof and windows as well as the interior have been updated, including the plumbing and electric. “The house is beautiful,” she says. She also says she enjoys its location. The town dock is across the street, while the ferries and Main Street are both within walking distance. Healy, a post graduate alumni coordinator for a university, chats some more about her home:

“The kitchen is unique . . . It’s large, so people can hang out while I cook and bake. It’s my favorite spot. And so is the front porch looking out onto the street. I love that, too . . . The house has four fireplaces that work -- two are in the upstairs bedrooms. There’s a fifth that is unusable -- it just looks pretty now.”
