Why it’s for sale Lori, 36, is a police officer, and Jeff, 36, is a lieutenant in the New York City Fire Department. They are expecting their fourth child and want more space.
The Millers have lived in their three-bedroom, 1½-bath side hall Colonial since 2006. The home, built in 1933, has about 1,785 square feet of living space. The property features a one-car garage; the roof, rear patio and front steps were recently replaced. Lori talks about her home:
“We updated everything so the house has a very new feel to it. We redid two new bathrooms and a new kitchen .?.?. The house has a lot of charm, with archways .?.?. stained-glass windows .?.?. big crown molding and the fireplace mantel. I find the layout to be very convenient for children and for socializing .?.?. If I’m in the kitchen and preparing, I can look through the back of the house to the backyard (to check the kids) and I can talk to people in the den. I feel connected to everyone. Between the extension of the den and the finished basement, the kids have a lot of room to play, to have their own space. And the mudroom, which a lot of Malverne homes don’t have, is phenomenal. The kids use it to unload their backpacks and take off their boots. It’s very convenient for me to keep the house clean .?.?. The house is deceiving from the outside. People say it’s definitely bigger on the inside than expected .?.?. A lot of the charm in the house .?.?. [gives it] a warm, cozy feeling.”
