Why it’s for sale John, 44, is a sales representative, and his wife, Christine, 41, is a marketing consultant. They and their two children, ages 7 and 10, are planning to relocate to Florida.

John and Christine’s house is a ranch, but with verve. The home, which has four bedrooms and 2½ bathrooms, is on a 75-by-155-foot lot. It was built in 1953 and has about 2,900 square feet of living space. John says:

“The house was designed by the original owner, who was a landscape architect. It was inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright .?.?. with the whole inside-outside kind of thing. “There’s a pond in the middle of the house, in an atrium, with a sliding-glass door out to it. If you’re in the kitchen or living room, there are ceiling-to-floor windows out to the front yard, and it’s completely secluded. The whole front of the house has a patio and a covered porch .?.?. It’s great for entertaining, like an outside living room. You can have a barbecue in the front yard and it’ll be completely private .?.?. The inside is very light .?.?. We have skylights throughout. The kitchen has been completely redone, and the bathrooms are all updated. The flooring is slate in most of the house. The ceilings are vaulted with exposed beams. This house is very different .?.?."
