Microbrews, also known as craft brews, are produced in small batches by independent beer makers using proprietary recipes.

A helpful website for places offering such brews on tap is beermenus.com. Or try any of these three spots:

BROWNSTONE BREWING COMPANY, Ronkonkoma

While technically this isn't a brewery, the casual sports pub offers three house brews made off premises by a private brewmaster. You'll also find 18 Long Island craft beers on tap from such brewers as Blue Point, Fire Island and Long Ireland.

THE PHOENIX, Seaford

Under the same ownership as The Good Life, this gastro pub offers eight draft beers from such brewers as Left Hand, Dogfish Head, Avery and Smuttynose, along with four varieties of mead (honey wine) produced by Redstone, a Colorado meadery.

PRESS 195, Rockville Centre

The inventive sandwiches at this casual gastro pub pair well with the eight microbrews on tap from such brewers as Barrier, Blue Point, Anderson Valley and River Horse.
