Registration for the 2012 youth soccer league in Greenburgh will close Wednesday, Sept. 12.
Copies of this year's registration form are available at Town Hall, the Theodore D. Young Community Center, the town library and the Parks and Recreation Department's registration office.
Copies also can be downloaded from www.greenburghny.com. Once on the site look under the Documents Forms tab and below the Parks Recreation Department listing you will find the registration form for the Youth Soccer League. A list of frequently asked questions also is there.
The league will consist of teams from Greenburgh, Elmsford and Edgemont.
There also will be some games scheduled with teams from Tarrytown and possibly White Plains. Games will be played on Saturdays and some weeknights beginning Sept. 22 and ending in late November.
Games will be played on various fields throughout the town. All players will be drafted onto teams. Boys and girls grade 3-6 will play in separate leagues, and those in grades 1-2 will play on co-ed teams.
Coaches are needed and will be required to take an online coaching clinic to obtain coaching certification. If not enough parents volunteer to coach, the league says it will be forced to form a limited number of teams and that some applicants might not be placed on teams.
All players must reside or attend school in the Town of Greenburgh.
The registration fee is $30, payable to Greenburgh Parks Recreation. No late registrations will be accepted.
