Alec Baldwin was reportedly booted from an American Airlines flight leaving from Los Angeles.
The New York Post says the actor was on board delayed AA Flight 4 when he was removed for not listening to a flight attendant, who told him to turn off his cell phone.
Michael J. Wolf, founder of Activate.com, tweeted the following at around 4:20 p.m. ET: "On an AA flight at LAX. Alec Baldwin removed from the plane We had to go back to the gate. Terrible that everyone had to wait"
Baldwin himself first commented on the incident via Twitter at about 5 p.m. ET, saying "Flight attendant on American reamed me out 4 playing WORDS W FRIENDS while we sat at the gate, not moving. #nowonderamericaairisbankrupt"
He added 20 minutes later "But, oddly, 30 Rock plays inflight on American. #theresalwaysunited"
American Airlines states on its website that "on all departing flights worldwide, you may use your cell phone, laptop computer, two-way pager and PDA until the aircraft door is closed."
The airlines later tweeted "@AlecBaldwin Mr. Baldwin, we are looking into this. Please DM us contact information."
Baldwin did not reply to the airlines pulicly, but instead tweeted "Now on the 3 o'clock American flight. The flight attendants already look.....smarter."
And then: "#theresalwaysunited Last flight w American. Where retired Catholic school gym teachers from the 1950's find jobs as flight attendants."
