Like Jenni "Jwoww" Farley of "Jersey Shore" and Jill Zarin of "The Real Housewives of New York City," yet another Long Islander will make a reality-TV debut this time on TLC.
Theresa Caputo, of Hicksville, is the star of the network’s “Long Island Medium,” which will premiere at 10 p.m.
The show’s premise is that Caputo is a psychic medium who goes around Long Island communicating with the dead and passing along messages to their loved ones.
TLC, the network made famous for shows like “Say Yes to the Dress” and “Toddlers in Tiaras,” posted this summary of the show on its website: “Theresa is a typical Long Island mom who has a very special gift. She talks to the dead. While Theresa helps other families find closure and peace, her own family occasionally get annoyed by her inability to turn this gift ‘off.’”
Yet Caputo isn’t the first Long Islander to have a reality-TV show centered around her psychic abilities. In July 2010, SyFy ran the show “Mary Knows Best” about Mary Occhino, of Center Moriches. The show ran for one season.
Here is a sneak peek from the first episode of Caputo’s show.
