'Bully' petition headed to MPAA

The Weinstein Company's official efforts to overturn an R rating for its documentary "Bully" seem to have stalled, but a Michigan high school student is continuing the fight.

According to the Website Change.org, Katy Butler has gathered more than 200,000 petition signatures through the site and will travel to Los Angeles tomorrow to deliver them to the MPAA, which branded the documentary with an "R" rating that effectively prevents most high-schoolers from seeing it unless accompanied by an adult.

Butler, who was bullied as a seventh-grader over her homosexuality and even had her finger broken in slammed locker, recently told CNN, "They're not letting the people who need to see this movie, the kids who are being bullied and the bullies, see this movie."

The film, which includes testimony from two families who lost children to suicide, is due in theaters March 30.
