British pop star Adele brightened the world of a blind, bed-bound little girl with cerebral palsy and epilepsy when she visited 12-year-old fan Rebecca Gibney in Belfast on Tuesday.

“Thank you so much Adele for visiting the beautiful Rebecca in the Short Strand today,” local politican Niall O’Donnghaile tweeted, with photos of the visit. “Made her & Tracy’s year!!”

Mom Tracy Gibney had emailed the Grammy- and Oscar-winner’s manager four months ago asking Adele to phone or teleconference with her daughter.

“I am in shock, I got my baby’s dream to come true,” the mother told the website Belfast Live. Adele “sat beside her and she was talking to me and my other kid; she was so nice for wee Rebecca. I cannot put it into words what it means.”
