Teenage "Modern Family" actress Ariel Winter has thanked family, fans and others in the wake of a magazine interview revealing she underwent breast-reduction surgery in June.

"I feel so blessed that you gave me a chance to share my story," she wrote in an Instagram post thanking Glamour magazine and the interviewer. "I am extremely humbled. . . . To my fans, you guys have all been so supportive and I couldn't thank y'all more. You are all amazing human beings and I'm honored to have you."

Writing, "HUGE thanks go to the people who support me, love me, and take care of me in every way possible," Winter, 17, who plays science geek Alex Dunphy on the Emmy Award-winning sitcom, offered gratitude to her sister, Shanelle Gray, and Gray's family; her boyfriend, Laurent Claude Gaudette; her father, Glenn Workman; and several friends in addition to two pets. She is estranged from her mother.

After then thanking her management team, she told fans, "Lastly, never be afraid to speak your mind. Always make decisions because YOU want to, and always do what makes YOU happy. Xx."

The Glamour interview was posted online Wednesday.
