Bristol Palin, daughter of former Alaska governor and 2008 Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin, is expecting her second child with her husband of six months, Dakota Meyer. It will be Palin’s third.
“We are so excited to announce that our family is expanding!” the couple told “Entertainment Tonight” on Friday. “God has blessed us so much; we are thankful for His grace and new beginnings. A springtime baby in the Meyer home and we can’t wait!”
The entertainment-news program’s website ran a photo of the family standing outdoor in Palin’s native Alaska, holding a sign reading, “Baby Meyer / Spring 2017.”
Palin, 26, and Medal of Honor recipient Meyer, 28, a former Marine, already are the parents of a daughter, Sailor Grace, who turns 1 on Dec. 23. Additionally, Palin and her former boyfriend Levi Johnston have a son, Tripp Johnston, who turns 8 on Dec. 27.
Palin and Meyer married in June after having called off their scheduled May 2015 wedding five days before it was to take place. They subsequently reconciled.
Palin’s mother, Sarah Palin, has not commented on social media.
On Father’s Day, Bristol Palin posted an Instagram photo of herself, Meyer, Sailor and a largely cropped-out Tripp at what appeared to be the same location as the Friday image. The caption, directed at Meyer, read, “Happy Father’s Day!! Thank you for putting our family first, working so hard, and giving our kids the most solid foundation, we love you soo, so much (as much as I want to show off my kids, there’s been too many creeps recently, so I’m trying to keep them safe by not posting pictures of them, so hard but their safety is our no. 1 priority!!).”
