'Spidey' stuntman back in the air

Christopher Tierney, who was seriously injured when he fell more than 30 feet from an onstage platform at "Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark" in December, resumed aerial stunts Thursday, The Associated Press reports. Show spokesman Rick Miramontez says Tierney battled the Green Goblin during the midair stunt and everything went smoothly, calling it an "emotional and exciting moment for the cast and crew."

Singer Cheryl Cole to be an 'X Factor' judge

The Fox network says British pop star Cheryl Cole will be seated at the judge's panel for "The X Factor." Cole will join Grammy-winning music producer Antonio "L.A." Reid and Simon Cowell on the much-anticipated singing contest debuting this fall, the network announced Thursday, according to The Associated Press. The series is based on Cowell's hit British show, where Cole has been a judge in the past. Paula Abdul, who teamed with Cowell on Fox's "American Idol," has been mentioned as a possible fourth judge.

Prince William and bride to visit California

Royal officials say Prince William and his new bride, the Duchess of Cambridge, will visit California as part of their first foreign trip this summer, The Associated Press reports. William's office said Thursday that the prince and the former Kate Middleton will be in the state for three days, starting July 8, after their tour of Canada. It will be William's first official trip to the United States -- and Kate's first-ever visit to the country.
