From Khloe Kardashian's successful Good American line, to Nicki Minaj's failed self-titled collection, here are some celebrities who tried their hand in the fashion industry, for better or worse.
Singer and actress Jennifer Lopez launched her self-titled clothing line, The Jennifer Lopez Collection at Kohl's in fall 2011. The line includes women's sweaters, tops, dresses and more sophisticated pieces. Lopez's previous clothing line, Sweetface, was launched in 2003 as an urban streetwear line. It was discontinued six years later, in spring 2009. The line included chiffon dresses, crop tops and more trendy clothing for women.
Sarah Jessica Parker
"Sex and the City" alum Sarah Jessica Parker launched her clothing line, Bitten, in 2007. The line was sold at Steve and Barry's but was discontinued when Steve and Barry's closed its stores between November 2008 and early 2009, after filing for bankruptcy in July 2008. The line included clothing separates, including jeans, knit shirts, sweaters and sleepwear, as well as accessories and dresses at low prices. Since the fashion flop, Parker has launched the SJP Collection, a luxurious and affordable shoe line, in February 2014, with George Malkemus III. Each shoe in the collection is handmade in Italy. The collection is sold at SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker boutiques in the Bellagio Las Vegas and MGM National Harbor, Bloomingdales, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue and more.
"The Real Housewives of Atlanta" star NeNe Leakes launched her self-titled clothing line, NENE by NeNe Leakes, on July 28, 2014. The collection includes chic, affordable separates such as jackets, sweaters, skirts and trendy tops. It's available at HSN. The reality star said the collection is inspired by her own personal style.
Actress Eva Mendes partnered with New York & Company in fall 2013 to launch a multi-year line of feminine, fashion-forward clothing and accessories, named Eva Mendes Collection. You can take home most pieces for under $80.
"Modern Family" actress Sofia Vergara partnered with Kmart in fall 2011 to launch her own collection of apparel and intimates, Sofia by Sofia Vergara. The actress and retailer parted ways in 2015 after four years together.
Child star Amanda Bynes launched a junior's clothing line, Dear, in 2007. The line, which was sold at Steve and Barry's, featured affordable apparel and accessories for trendy young women. The line was discontinued when Steve and Barry's closed its stores between November 2008 and early 2009, after filing for bankruptcy in July 2008.
Supermodel Gigi Hadid became the brand ambassador in fall 2016 for Tommy Hilfiger's women collection and as part of her ambassadorship, she partnered with the fashion mogul to launch her first capsule collection, Tommy x Gigi. The collection features women's sportswear, footwear, accessories, watches, sunglasses and a new fragrance.
Beyoncé's Ivy Park line, a joint venture with Topshop's Sir Phillip Green, debuted on March 31, 2016, and can be bought at Top Shop, Nordstrom, Lady Foot Locker and other locales. Expect to find dresses, top, bottoms, lingerie, jackets, hats and more.
"Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star Kourtney Kardashian launched her first solo fashion collaboration, PrettyLittleThing by Kourtney Kardashian, on Oct. 26, 2017. The line comprises sequined, lace and cutout mini dresses, satin jumpsuits with plunging necklines, crop tops, oversize shirt dresses and blazers and more.
In 2009, Britney Spears teamed up with Candies to launch her first clothing line. Five years later, on Sept. 9, 2014, Spears debuted The Intimate Britney Spears, her own line of sexy, affordable lingerie.
Rihanna's Fenty x Puma by Rihanna collection dropped Sept. 6, 2016, and included both wear and kicks. The pop star went on to launch Fenty Beauty, which according to Vanity Fair, "includes 40 shades of foundation, but also brushes in varying shapes and sizes, highlighters, concealing-and-correcting sticks, blotting papers and powder, and a single, universal lip gloss," on Sept. 7, 2017.
Rap star Nicki Minaj launched her own affordable line of clothing and accessories at Kmart in 2013. From workout gear to party wear, the loud clothes reflect Minaj's glamorous, girly style. However, three years later, Kmart and Minaj parted ways. Nowadays, Minaj's perfume can be bought at stores such as Sears, Target and Kohl's.
Ellen DeGeneres launched ED, her American lifestyle brand, in 2015 inspired by her style, personality and passion for interior design, architecture and fashion. ED is a collection of women's apparel, shoes, accessories, pet products, and home furnishings and decor.
Former reality TV-star Lauren Conrad debuted Lauren Conrad Collection in March 2008, but due to low sales, Conrad pulled the line. The following year, she collaborated with Kohl's on her second line, LC Lauren Conrad, which featured apparel, shoes, accessories, bedding and more. Then in 2010, with Maura McManus, launched paper crown. All of Conrad's collections are full of fun, feminine pieces with a vintage feel.
Khloe Kardashian launched Good American, billed as "a denim-focused fashion brand designed for a curvier, sexier and stronger shape" in October 2016. Good American's jeans, sweats, bodysuits and more can be found on the brand's official website as well as at Nordstrom stores.
Jessica Simpson launched her clothing line, The Jessica Simpson Collection, in 2006 as a shoe collaboration with the co-founder of Nine West. Since then, the brand has added activewear, swimwear, handbags, accessories, home decor, fragrances and more. The Jessica Simpson Collection is sold at Macy's, Nordstrom, Dillards, Amazon, HSN and other retailers.
Designer Nicole Miller, whose clothing has captured the attention of celebrities like Beyoncé and Angelina Jolie, launched Nicole by Nicole Miller at J.C. Penney in 2005. The affordable items, ranging from tops, bottoms, blazers and more, are described as a cool combination of classic and modern style.
Justin Timberlake and childhood friend Trace Ayala founded William Rast in 2005. The name comes from both of their grandfathers, and the brand's denim is designed to reflect Timberlake and Ayala's lifestyle. It's a mix between Tennessee and Hollywood, with seasonal collections and a presence on the runway.
Country star Carrie Underwood created Calia by Carrie Underwood, sold at Dick's Sporting Goods, in March 2015. The brand sells athletic and outdoor apparel and combines workout clothing with everyday wear.
Actress Kate Hudson launched Fabletics with JustFab Inc. co-CEOs, Don Ressler and Adam Goldenberg, in 2013. Fabletics is a subscription-based brand that sells trendy, affordable activewear for people of all shapes and sizes.
In 2008, Gwyneth Paltrow launched goop, a lifestyle brand focused on wellness, travel, food, beauty style and work. Goop's products include tops, bottoms, dresses, shoes, jewelry, accessories and more. The brand also makes its own goods including skin care products, vitamins, fragrances and fashion essentials.
Michael Kors' self-titled and self-designed fashion line debuted in 1981 and can be found in numerous stores, including Macy's, Lord & Taylor and Bloomingdale's. His line features apparel, shoes, bags and jewelry that are more affordable and accessible than the designer's runway styles.

Reality TV sisters Kendall and Kylie Jenner in 2012 launched Kendall + Kylie, a lifestyle brand for young fashion lovers, with Pacsun. in 2015, the Jenner sisters collaborated with Topshop for a series of California-inspired capsule collections.
"Desperate Housewives" alum Eva Longoria launched her self-titled clothing line, Eva Longoria Collection, in early 2017. The line is a mix of work apparel, jeans, outerwear, athleisure and more clothing that women can feel comfortable wearing "from work to wine," at an affordable price.
"Santa Clarita Diet" actress Drew Barrymore launched her clothing line, Dear Drew, in October 2017. It's available on Amazon Fashion and includes a mix of apparel, jewelry and accessories at a wide range of prices.
Reese Witherspoon in October 2015 launched Draper James, a Southern-inspired online boutique. The brand sells clothing, handbags, accessories and home accents.
Ryan Seacrest founded a line of menswear, sold exclusively at Macy's, in 2014. The collection, titled Ryan Seacrest Distinction, includes a Style Made System to help guys coordinate shirts, pants, ties and jackets.
"E! News" host Giuliana Rancic launched her own clothing line, G by Giuliana Rancic, with HSN in 2012. The collection offers an edgy, feminine mix and most pieces are priced at under $100.
Figure-skater-turned-fashion-designer Vera Wang has her own self-titled fashion company, Vera Wang, as well as a partnership with Kohl's, called Simply Vera. Simply Vera features accessible, luxurious clothing such as sweaters, jeans, leggings and more. The Vera Wang Bridal Collection includes upscale, customizable wedding and bridesmaids' dresses. Wang's brand also includes eyewear, home decor and fragrances.
The Adam Levine Collection, created by Project Runway's Kevin Christiana with the direction of Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine, is sold exclusively at Kmart. Launched in fall of 2013, the line includes classic, everyday wear for men and women at affordable prices.
"Project Runway" alum Christian Siriano launched his self-titled collection Christian Siriano in 2008 after winning season 4 of the reality TV fashion show. The collection focuses on fantasy evening gowns, cocktail dresses, tailored sportswear, shoes and accessories, and is shown each season at New York Fashion Week. It's sold at department stores and specialty stores around the world.
