Demi Lovato says she’s unfazed by ‘nude’ photo leak

Singer-actress Demi Lovato is brushing aside the recent leak of two explicit photos, while essentially confirming the authenticity of one.

“I love how everyone’s freaking out about one picture. It’s not nude and it’s just cleavage,” Lovato, 24, tweeted, adding a laughing-so-hard-I’m-crying emoji. “Besides the world has seen me nude BY CHOICE before,” she continued, referring to an October 2015 series of photos in Vanity Fair magazine, in which she appears discreetly nude from the side and back. Additionally, on Sunday, she posted an equally discreet topless photo of herself lying on her stomach on what appeared to be a fur.

The two new photos are mentioned, but not linked to, by multiple outlets and are not readily discoverable on a Google search. The one Lovato references reportedly shows her lying in bed wearing an unzipped sweatshirt bearing Adidas branding. Cleavage is visible though she is not topless. Another, according to GossipCop.com, has been online for some time previously and “shows a faceless woman exposing the lower half of her body.”

This is not the first time purported explicit photos of Lovato have surfaced. In July 2014, about a month after she and “That ’70s Show” star Wilmer Valderrama broke up after a six-year relationship, a topless photo and a nude photo of a woman bearing Lovato’s distinctive tattoos were leaked online. Valderrama announced that his Twitter account had been hacked.

This proved to be the vanguard of three waves of hacked-photo releases. The first, that August, targeted more than 100 women including model Kate Upton and actresses Jennifer Lawrence and Mary Elizabeth Winstead. The second wave, in September, included singer Rihanna and actresses Vanessa Hudgens, Mary-Kate Olsen, Hayden Panettiere and Gabrielle Union. A third, six days later, included actress Anna Kendrick, who was clothed in all 87 photos leaked, and Olympic gold medalist Misty May-Treanor. Two men, Ryan Collins and Edward Majerczyk, were convicted of the cybercrimes.

Photos of Emma Watson during a clothes fitting with a stylist and nude images of Amanda Seyfried reportedly were leaked days ago, with “Beauty and the Beast” star Watson vowing to take legal action.
