More details have emerged about the night reality TV star Kim Richards was arrested and charged with public intoxication after allegedly causing a disturbance at The Beverly Hills Hotel.

In an advance clip from Tuesday's episode of the "Dr. Phil" show, "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star and former child actress talks to Dr. Phil McGraw and says that after drinking vodka at her daughter's house, "I started to drive home and it was about when I hit the hotel that I started to feel it. So I pulled in because I'm comfortable there. I've been going there since I'm a little girl."

Mineola native Richards, 50, who has acknowledged past issues with alcohol, said she realized there was a problem when a waiter at the hotel's Polo Lounge "mentioned the word trespassing. . . . He said, you know, 'If you don't leave, we're gonna call the police for trespassing.' " Richards was arrested on April 16 on charges including trespassing, resisting an officer and battery on a police officer.

In an accompanying release quoted by E! News, Richards says, "I have been sober," but that "I haven't been working a program."

TMZ reported on Saturday that Richards checked herself into an inpatient rehab facility in Malibu days ago after consulting with family.
