ABC News' Elizabeth Vargas is writing a memoir of what Grand Central Publishing calls her "dark double life" of alcoholism, anxiety disorder, rehab and recovery, reports Newsday contributor Frank Lovece. "I have spent my entire life telling other peoples' stories," the "20/20" anchor said in a statement announcing the spring 2016 book. "This one is my own, and is incredibly personal: the burden and the loneliness of the secret drinker. If just one other person can relate to it, it will make my own story worth writing, and I will have paid the gift forward." The memoir is as yet untitled.
