Fifth Harmony singer Lauren Jauregui was charged with marijuana possession outside Washington, D.C., on Tuesday.

After an initial report by Wednesday that the 20-year-old Jauregui had been arrested at Dulles Airport after TSA agents found an apparent bag of marijuana in her carry-on luggage, attorney Dina LaPolt said her client only received a citation.

“Lauren Jauregui was not arrested and detained as reported, but simply given a citation for possession of marijuana and released on her own recognizance,” LaPolt said in a statement to TMZ and to People magazine. “She will address the matter appropriately through the legal system. This will not interfere with any future scheduled performances or activities.”

The incident appeared to have occurred after the girl group’s appearance at Hot 99.5’s Jingle Ball at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C., the Tuesday stop on the multi-artist touring show. Fifth Harmony next appeared onstage Wednesday at the FunPopFun Festival in São Paulo, Brazil, where Jauregui did not perform with her four bandmates on Vevo’s livestreamed webcast.

The group, which played Z100’s Jingle Ball at Madison Square Garden on Dec. 9, is scheduled to appear at Jingle Balls in Atlanta, Tampa and Sunrise, Florida, on Friday through Sunday, respectively.
