The Los Angeles home of “Younger” star Hilary Duff was burglarized Thursday while she and her 5-year-old son were vacationing in Canada.

Police confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter Monday that no one was home when thieves broke in and stole unspecified property. The alarm system did not activate.

“This is a scary and upsetting situation for anyone to go through, but Hilary is thankful that her family, her staff, her home and her pets are all safe,” a representative for the 29-year-old singer-actress said in a statement. “That said, she has a significant security team in place that will work with the authorities on this incident and handle security measures moving forward.”

Duff has not commented on social media. On Wednesday, she had posted several photos of herself and son Luca swimming and enjoying water sports, with the last of them captioned “Canada.” Luca’s father is former New York Islanders center Mike Comrie, whom Duff divorced in January 2016 after five years of marriage.

Celebrities whose Los Angeles homes have been burglarized over the past 13 months include comedian Kevin Hart, rapper Nicki Minaj, singer Alanis Morissette, “Shameless” star Emmy Rossum, dog-trainer and reality-show star Cesar Millan and, as recently as last month, comedian David Spade.
