Nearly seven months after the couple announced their separation, actress-dancer Jenna Dewan has filed for divorce from "Magic Mike" star Channing Tatum.
In the Friday filing, obtained by TheBlast.com, the 37-year-old Dewan cites irreconcilable differences. She asks for joint legal and physical custody of their daughter, Everly Elizabeth Maiselle Tatum, 5, as well as for child and spousal support. Still officially Jenna Dewan-Tatum, the actress, currently on Fox's "The Resident," also asks to have her name again be Jenna Dewan.
In his response, also obtained by the website, the 38-year-old Tatum also asked for joint custody of their daughter.
Neither Tatum nor Dewan has commented on social media.
Tatum — whose other movies include 2013's "White House Down," the two "G.I. Joe" films (2009's "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Crobra" and 2013's "G.I. Joe: Retaliation") and 2012's "21 Jump Street" and its 2014 sequel — had met Dewan when the two starred in the 2006 dance drama "Step Up." They married in Malibu, California, on July 11, 2009, and had their only child four years later.
They announced on April 2 that, "We have lovingly chosen to separate as a couple. We fell deeply in love so many years ago and have had a magical journey together. Absolutely nothing has changed about how much we love one another, but love is a beautiful adventure that is taking us on different paths for now. There are no secrets nor salacious events at the root of our decision — just two best-friends realizing it's time to take some space and help each other live the most joyous, fulfilled lives as possible. We are still a family and will always be loving dedicated parents to Everly."
A Twitter user earlier this month said Tatum was on a date with English singer Jessie J, 30, at the mini-golf facility where the user worked. People magazine subsequently said it had confirmed that the two were in the early stages of a relationship. The magazine additionally said on Saturday that on Friday, Dewan and an unnamed man had behaved romantically at a Beverly Hills Halloween party thrown by the Manhasset-based tequila company Casamigos Spirits.
The couple, married since 2009, announced they were separating this April. They share 5-year-old daughter Everly.
