Dancer-choreographer Casper Smart, with whom pop star Jennifer Lopez reportedly has broken up after more than two years together, is denying a transgender model's claim that he cheated with her.
"There is no truth to any meeting or physical encounter," Smart told Us Weekly Monday, referring to Xristina Marie's claim on Sunday in the UK tabloid The Sun. "I am weighing my options on the appropriate action to take against Xristina Marie and/or The Sun."
Marie, who according to her modeling website is a 25-year-old from Miami, had told the newspaper she and Smart, 27, met in a nightclub in that city weeks ago, and that he sent her an Instagram friend request days later. She claimed they started messaging and that sometime afterward they began a casual relationship that she suggested stopped short of sex.
Smart -- whose relationship with Lopez became public in November 2011, following the singer's separation from husband Marc Anthony in July of that year -- previously was rumored to have exchanged risqué images and messages with another transgender model, but Us Weekly Monday discounted those stories.
Meanwhile, Lopez, 44 -- who has been in New York promoting her upcoming album -- has dropped out of performing "We Are One (Ole Ola)," the official song of the 2014 World Cup, at Thursday's opening ceremony in Brazil. Her representatives said in a statement Sunday night that, "Regretfully Jennifer Lopez will not be attending this year's World Cup opening ceremonies."
Rapper Pitbull and Brazilian singer Claudia Leitte, who co-wrote the song with Lopez and others and were scheduled to sing with her, will now perform it as a duet.
