Singer Joe Jonas pleasantly surprised a college student at the "Today" show plaza yesterday morning, offering to fly her to the opening of the Jonas Brothers' upcoming tour as his special guest.
"I would love to," a delighted Shaina Kohli responded after Jonas, 23, peeled off a wig and fake mustache he had used to disguise himself in the crowd.
Jonas also responded in a video Thursday to Pepperdine University senior Kohli's April 1 video inviting him to her sorority's spring formal. As George Michael's "Careless Whisper" played, Jonas -- lounging before a video fireplace, dressed in a NASCAR-type jumpsuit -- lauds her message but says, "Unfortunately, I am not able to be there."
However, he continued, "On July 10 in Chicago, Ill., I would like to fly you out, [and] escort you to my concert of the opening tour," referring to the opening concert of the Jonas Brothers tour. (They play the Nikon at Jones Beach Theater on July 20.)
"I want you front row. Or on stage, your choice," he said. "We will have an amazing time together. What do you think?"
