In an interview conducted before the birth of his and Kim Kardashian's daughter, North, rapper Kanye West allowed writer Christopher Bagley of W magazine to witness an awkward exchange with Kardashian's mother and manager, Kris Jenner.

During the interview, which took place in Paris, Jenner paid a visit to West, who played for her some unfinished songs off his "Yeezus" album, including "Awesome," which Bagley believes is clearly about Kardashian. Jenner reacted enthusiastically and told West, "Great job!"

West, according to Bagley, did not take the compliment as expected and responded with, "Great job? Great job, Baccarat, for making a glass that can hold liquid! Great job, belt loops, for keeping my pants up!"

Also during the interview, West denied being a motivating force behind Kardashian's often mocked fashion choices.

"Nobody can tell my girl what to do," he said, adding, "For her to take that risk in front of the world, it just shows you how much she loves me."
