Kanye West, who has attacked paparazzi in the past, lunged at a female photographer Sunday after the woman asked his girlfriend Kim Kardashian a question as the couple exited a restaurant in Miami's South Beach.
The altercation started, reported RadarOnline.com -- which ran photos from both the photographer and other paparazzi -- after West, 35 and Kardashian, 31, were leaving the tony Ocean Drive restaurant Prime One Twelve. Kardashian's ex-boyfriend, Miami Dolphins running back Reggie Bush, apparently was at a restaurant nearby, with girlfriend Lilit Avagyan. Bush announced last week that he and Avagyanare expecting a baby.
At this point, said TMZ.com, a woman photographer shouted, "Kim did you know Reggie is here [in Miami] having dinner? Did you wanna go congratulate him on his pregnancy?"
As paparazzi snapped photos, West grabbed at the photographer's camera, although he did not make physical contact with the woman herself, TMZ said. The website added that before the photographer fled, she told the remaining paparazzi, "Kanye West just tried to beat me up."
Radar said Kardashian, who is in Miami filming scenes for her E! reality series, "Kourtney & Kim Take Miami," smiled and appeared amused by the encounter. After the photographer departed, TMZ said, West and Kardashian themselves left in a Rolls-Royce.
No police were called, and neither The Miami Herald nor local community papers noted the incident.
Kardashian and Bush started dating after being introduced at the 2007 ESPY Awards by Arizona Cardinals backup quarterback Matt Leinart, Bush's former teammate at USC. Kardashian told "Access Hollywood" in January 2009, "Matt introduced me to the love of my life and we will always be grateful."
The couple broke up six months later, but got back together a day after the marriage of Kardashian's sister Khloé to Lamar Odom in September 2009. They then broke up a final time the following March.
