Singer Kelly Clarkson, who marries talent manager Brandon Blackstock this October, Tuesday enthused over already being a de facto stepmother to her fiance's two children.
"I have a 12-year-old and a 6-year-old now . . . after being single for six years!" Clarkson, 31, told Ryan Seacrest on his radio show, describing the older sibling, a girl, as "12 going on 20." The inaugural "American Idol" winner said, "We all live together and everything. My friends will be like, what?" she added, laughing. "Like, it's just so different. But it's perfect, though. They're awesome and I actually really dig the mom thing."
Clarkson conceded she was a bit of a disciplinarian. "I am quick to go, 'I told you not to touch that!' " she said. "I mean, they're awesome and we all work really well together but I am totally my mom. Like, my mom was a hard mom. And I'm probably that mom. But," she quickly added, "they've got a great mom and stepdad and a great dad as well, so they got four people lovin' on 'em."
Blackstock -- the son of Clarkson's manager, Narvel Blackstock, and stepson of Narvel's wife, singer Reba McEntire -- proposed in December after he and Clarkson had been together a year. Country-music star and "The Voice" mentor Blake Shelton will officiate at their wedding, the couple previously announced.
"It's two months away," Clarkson told Seacrest. "It's end of October. I'm so over it," she said playfully of wedding planning.
