Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys, who play a married couple on the FX series "The Americans," were seen behaving affectionately at a play in Manhattan, appearing to confirm monthslong speculation that the two are a couple.

People magazine Tuesday said audience members saw Russell stroking Rhys' hair last Thursday at the drama "The Library," directed by Steven Soderbergh, at The Public Theater. The two, who were photographed together in the lobby, were seen whispering before leaving together, the magazine added.

Russell, 38, and Welsh actor Rhys, 39, have been seen together numerous times since first being spotted strolling and shopping in her Brooklyn Heights neighborhood a few days before Christmas. Neither has confirmed a relationship.

Russell and her contractor husband, Shane Deary, were amicably separated last summer. The couple, who married in February 2007, have a son, River, 6, and a daughter, Willa, 2.
