Has reality-TV star Kylie Jenner broken up with her rapper boyfriend Tyga?
People magazine said Thursday that Jenner 18, youngest of the “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” clan, and Tyga, 26, born Michael Ray Stevenson, have ended their relationship, noting that as recently as May 2, the two sat side-by-side at a table at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s annual Costume Institute Gala.
Tyga, who was in New York City Thursday to promote his upcoming clothing line, told E! “I’m good, you know?” when he was asked about the breakup. Just another day and working hard and trying to get to that next level and achieve big things and evolve.” Jenner has yet to comment.
Jenner fended off breakup rumors in November, telling daytime talk-show host Ellen DeGeneres, “No, honestly, people have it all wrong. . . . We’re not broken up. We just, honestly, we became best friends before anything happened so I think that that’s awesome and we’re just like, I don’t know, hanging out.”
The two reportedly began dating in late 2014, when Jenner was only 17, though her mother, Kris Jenner, told radio-show host Ryan Seacrest that October, “Kylie isn’t dating anybody.” She said Tyga was part of “this whole little group of kids who have been around forever . . . kind of all travel as a pack and they enjoy each other’s company.”
In February 2015, Tyga also denied rumors of a relationship with the teen, telling WWPR-FM/Power 105.1, “I’m not dating Kylie,” adding, “I just want to get that out of the way. I want to be clear to everybody that I didn’t leave my family to be with Kylie.” Tyga has a son, King Cairo Stevenson, 3, with makeup artist and urban model Blac Chyna, who became engaged last month to Jenner’s half-brother, Rob Kardashian.
But a month after his radio interview, Tyga posted an Instagram image of Jenner, writing, “Certain things capture your eye, but only few capture the heart.” He gave her an Italian sports car for her 18th birthday in August.
