Fresh off her critical and commercial hit film "A Star Is Born," singer-actress Lady Gaga has publicly confirmed her long-speculated engagement with Hollywood talent agent Christian Carino.
"I love you — everybody at table five," the pop star, 32, said to appreciative chuckles Monday in a fan site's video excerpt of her speech after being honored at Elle magazine's 25th Annual Elle Women in Hollywood gala in Los Angeles. "My fiance, Christian," she went on. "All the loved ones in my life who take care of me every day."
She has not commented further, and Carino, who has no apparent social-media accounts under his name, did not respond to a Newsday request for comment.
Six-time Grammy Award-winner Gaga and CAA agent Carino, whose age is generally reported as 49, were first seen together at NRG Stadium in Houston on Feb. 5, 2017, before her Super Bowl LI halftime show. Us Weekly said at the time he gave her a kiss on the cheek and three days later brought her to a Tommy Hilfiger fashion show in Venice, California.
The two began dating and that June were photographed together in the Hamptons, arms around each other's shoulders on a casual stroll by the ocean. Unconfirmed reports of the couple's engagement surfaced in November, with Us saying the proposal took place over the summer of 2017. Gaga began displaying a large, oval, pink-diamond apparent engagement ring on her Instagram page by at least Nov. 29, 2017, and at events ranging from the Grammy Awards this January to the Toronto International Film Festival last month.
She had become engaged to actor Taylor Kinney of NBC's "Chicago Fire" on Valentine's Day 2015, after having met him in 2011 on the set of her "Yoü and I" music video, in which he played her paramour. Months later they began dating, and after a brief breakup in May 2012 were together again. By July 2016, however, reports circulated that the two had broken up.
Carino, whose clients have included Justin Bieber, Simon Cowell, Jennifer Lopez, Selena Gomez and Zooey Deschanel, previously was linked to actress Lauren Cohan of "The Walking Dead."
