Dina Lohan, the Merrick-based mother of actress Lindsay Lohan, says that despite recent reports, her daughter is not expecting a child.
“Lindsay is not pregnant, as some in the press have been erroneously reporting she is,” Dina Lohan, 53, told Newsday. She also confirmed that the widely circulated video of a couple arguing loudly at about 5 a.m. on July 23, does depict Lindsay and fiance Egor Tarabasov. “I’m just glad she’s safe and out of an escalating abusive relationship,” Lohan said. As for the future, “I don’t have a crystal ball. I hope he gets help for his anger.”
She added, “My poor daughter. That’s a whole issue.”
Her daughter — who most recently was photographed vacationing with friends on the Mediterranean island of Sardinia — “is taking time for herself right now and giving herself time to heal,” Dina Lohan said. “I FaceTime with her every day.”
Lindsay Lohan had made no definitive announcement of her pregnancy, but rather, in a since-deleted July 23 tweet, wrote jocularly: “labour pains trailer — I am pregnant!!” and linked to a page showing a still from her 2009 romantic comedy “Labor Pains,” about a woman who pretends to be pregnant in order to avoid losing her job.
After TMZ.com reported Wednesday on Dina Lohan’s denial of a Lindsay pregnancy, Dina Lohan told Newsday she had “not spoken with TMZ about my daughter’s present situation. What was written did not come from me.” TMZ spokeswoman Casey Carver told Newsday that the website had received an email from a Lohan representative named Gina, reading, “From Dina Lohan: ‘Lindsay is not pregnant as the press has been reporting. Lindsay is taking time for herself right now. Please leave her alone and give her time to heal.’ ”
