Is Lindsay Lohan, who starred in “Mean Girls,” about to take on the role of “designing woman”?
The Merrick and Cold Spring Harbor-raised Lohan posted an Instagram photo on Friday of herself wearing a jeweled scarf around her head and captioned it: “New Fashion Line coming soon.” No other details were provided.
The announcement comes as Lohan has been devoting most of her time to Syrian refugees. She recently was in Turkey, where she met with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Lohan, 31, said she wore a headscarf in Turkey out of “personal respect.”
The actress recently made headlines when she was stopped at London’s Heathrow Airport for wearing a headscarf. Lohan said that she had been “racially profiled,” adding that an airport worker opened her passport and apologized after seeing her name and then asked her to remove the scarf.
A fashion line would not be Lohan’s first venture in the fashion design world. A decade ago, she created a leggings line called 6126, named for Marilyn Monroe’s birthday, and she worked with PacSun on a men’s collection called My Addiction. Last year she created a T-shirt with the words “I only speak LiLohan,” a nod to the odd new accent she began speaking with. A portion of the proceeds from the shirt went to aid Syrian refugees.
