Engaged “Dancing With the Stars” professionals Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd have chosen the Oheka Castle in Huntington as the venue for their marriage this summer.
“We went there. It’s perfect,” Chmerkovskiy, 37, told ABC News. “We’re going to have it for two days. They’re closing the whole hotel,” he said of the 127-room former estate of financier-philanthropist Otto Hermann. “It’s going to be unbelievable.”
The Ukraine-born dancer, who moved to New York in 1994, added that, “I remember when I was passing by this castle when I first immigrated, and [I said], ‘That’s where I want to have my wedding’ and I just said it so [casually], and now it’s happening.”
He and the New Zealand-born Murgatroyd, 30, became engaged on Dec. 5, 2015. Their son Shai Aleksander Chmerkovskiy was born Jan. 4 in Manhattan.
Oheka was also the locale of musician Kevin Jonas and Danielle Deleasa’s Dec. 19, 2009, wedding, as well as the nuptials of ’NSync’s Joey Fatone and Kelly Baldwin on Sept. 9, 2004.
