While Matthew Perry could not join his “Friends” brethren at a recent taping of a TV special honoring the show’s director, he and his old cast-mates do discuss the possibility of a reunion episode.

“I think the actors would actually be open to it,” Perry, 46, said on BBC Radio’s “The Chris Evans Breakfast Show” on Friday. “I do. I think we would be open to doing something — maybe some TV special. I don’t know about a movie,” like the “Entourage” or “Sex and the City” films. “It’s kind of tough,” he noted, “because sometimes when you do a reunion it’s terrible and it sort of ruins the memory of the good show that you’d done before. . . . But I think the cast would be open to doing something like that at some point.”

He and his fellow stars of the 1994-2004 NBC hit — Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer — have “talked about it a little bit, over dinner,” Perry said. “We like to get together for dinner and we have a good time together and it’s a really good group,” he added, describing his old castmates’ dynamic. “There’s isn’t a jerk in the group, and that really saved us for 10 years.”

Perry — who contributed a recorded segment but otherwise missed Sunday’s taping of the James Burrows tribute, due to rehearsals in London for his play “The End of Longing” — also joked about the substance-abuse issues that have plagued him for many years. When a fellow guest on the radio show asked him to name his least-favorite “Friends” episode, Perry replied, “I think the answer is I don’t remember three years of it.”

Amid laughter in response, someone asked, “You were pretty out of it, weren’t you, for a while?”

“A little bit of the time I was a little out of it, yeah,” Perry answered, adding that his least-favorite episode is “somewhere between season three and six.”
