Mayer diagnosed with throat condition

He won't be singing for a whileJohn Mayer has been diagnosed with granuloma, a throat condition caused by an inflamed nodule near his vocal cords, according to his personal Tumblr blog, Billboard.com reports. "This is a temporary setback," said the singer-songwriter. "Though I'm not sure how long or short a period of time it will be. I've got the best doctors in the country looking after me and I will be singing and touring again as soon as I get the all clear." Due to his condition, he has been forced to cancel several upcoming performances. His upcoming fifth studio album, "Born and Raised," has also been postponed from a fall 2011 release to some time next year.
