"The Big Bang Theory" star Mayim Bialik says she is among the minority of audience members who disliked last year's critically acclaimed Disney hit "Frozen."
Bialik, 38, wrote on her official blog at website Kveller.com that she had watched the animated film on DVD with her sons, ages 9 and 6, who largely disliked it as well. "I don't care for musicals really at all, so that was one strike against this movie in the first place," she conceded, before listing her three main concerns.
She argued that while subtle, "the search for a man/love/Prince is still the reigning plot line in the movie," though that is only a subplot in a story about a woman attempting to retrieve her magical sister from self-imposed exile. "My issue is that this is a movie geared to small children who I don't think need to be focusing on that as the main driving plot of a movie, especially when it's not a literary or historically-based fairy tale," she wrote. The Oscar-winning movie is based tangentially on Hans Christian Andersen's 1844 story "The Snow Queen."
