Which actress does three-time Academy Award-winner Meryl Streep think could play her in a film biography?
“Amy Schumer, of course,” the 67-year-old star of the new historical comedy-drama “Florence Foster Jenkins” said in a video interview at HuffingtonPost.com.
While the seriousness of her answer is a matter of speculation, the interviewer responded, “Ah, that’s a good one, actually. I can see that happening,” to which Streep replied, “Yeah. Me, too.”
When a Twitter follower informed Schumer of Streep’s comment, the Rockville Centre-reared comedy star, 35, tweeted characteristically, “Holy [expletive].”
Meanwhile, Emmy Award-winner Schumer, who starred in last year’s comedy hit “Trainwreck,” has just finished production on her next feature, an untitled mother-daughter adventure comedy co-starring Goldie Hawn. “Goodbye Hawaii,” Schumer tweeted on Saturday from the film’s location. “Thank you for having us. So much love to the crew of our movie and the amazing people of Hawaii!”
In a second tweet she thanked Oscar-winner Hawn, 70, who plays her mother. “That’s a wrap. @goldiehawn I love you. Thank you for saying yes.”
As well, Schumer on Sunday posted an Instagram from the wedding of Tara Alana and Barrington, Illinois, dentist Dr. Russell P. “Rusty” Fitton IV, friends of her boyfriend Ben Hanisch. “Congratulations to @tara_alana and @rustolleum in the best wedding ever,” Schumer captioned a photo of herself with the bride and groom.
