A survivor of the “Miracle on the Hudson” landing of disabled US Airways Flight 1549 in 2009 wants to attend the premiere of the upcoming movie adaptation with star Tom Hanks.
Olympia, Washington, resident Michele Winegar — one of the 155 passengers and crew members on the flight that Capt. Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger landed safely in the Hudson River beside Manhattan — posted an Instagram video two weeks ago with a lighthearted plea to the Oscar winner.
“Tom Hanks can I be your +1 to the Sully premiere?” she captioned the video. “I’m one of the passenger from the flight. Some would even dare to say I’m pretty darn swell!!”
No response yet from the Hanks camp. Director Clint Eastwood’s “Sully” opens Sept. 9.
