Penélope Cruz, Javier Bardem welcome baby girl
Penélope Cruz and husband Javier Bardem have welcomed their second child, according to Spanish media.
The Spanish-language weekly ¡Hola! reported Tuesday that the Academy Award-winning actress, 39, gave birth to a girl Monday at Madrid's Clínica Ruber hospital. She and fellow Oscar-winner Bardem, 44, have a son, Leo, born in Los Angeles in January 2011.
Reuters said the hospital declined to confirm the birth and that representatives for Cruz and Bardem, who married in July 2010, could not be reached for comment.
Cruz, who won a supporting-actress Oscar for 2008's "Vicky Cristina Barcelona," and Bardem, who won for supporting actor for 2007's "No Country for Old Men," announced the pregnancy in February.
A spokesman, Javier Giner, said at the time that Cruz was "extremely happy and very excited."
The two star with Michael Fassbender, Brad Pitt and Cameron Diaz in director Ridley Scott's upcoming thriller "The Counselor," novelist Cormac McCarthy's first screenplay. It is scheduled for release Oct. 25.
