England’s Prince Harry, who last month confirmed his rumored relationship with American actress Meghan Markle, has been photographed with her publicly for the first time.
British media on Wednesday ran photos of the couple out among Christmas shoppers in London, on their way to the Gielgud Theatre to see the National Theatre’s West End production of 2015’s Tony Award-winning Best Play “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time.”
Followed by a single royal protection officer, Harry, 32, and Markle, 35, who plays Rachel Zane in the USA Network series “Suits,” strolled hand-in-hand on busy Piccadilly and on Shaftesbury Avenue where the theater is located, said the newspaper The Sun.
The paper added that on Monday, Markle had flown to the UK from Toronto, where her series films.
On Nov. 8, Harry’s office had issued a statement asking paparazzi and Internet trolls to refrain from harassing the biracial Markle, saying the prince “has rarely taken formal action on the very regular publication of fictional stories that are written about him…. But the past week has seen a line crossed,” with Markle subjected “to a wave of abuse and harassment” including “the racial undertones of comment pieces; and the outright sexism and racism of social media trolls and web article comments.”
