Chelsea O’Donnell, the 19-year-old daughter of comedian Rosie O’Donnell, reportedly was recovering safely in a Long Island hospital Wednesday after being admitted for psychiatric evaluation.
E! News said Chelsea O’Donnell -- who made headlines last August when she went missing in what eventually was revealed as her running away from home — was admitted under a New York State emergency program. She was being evaluated by social workers, psychiatrists and other mental health professionals and was going to be released, added the entertainment-news service.
A representative for the Commack-born Rosie O’Donnell, 54, had no comment. E! did not identify the hospital.
Chelsea, adopted in 1997, and her mother have had a fractious relationship during the girl’s teenage years, but appear to have reconciled. Rosie O’Donnell posted an Instagram photo of themselves last week captioned, “happy birthday chelsea belle !!! 19 today #believe.”
The comedian has four other children: sons Parker, 21, adopted in 1995, and Blake, 16, adopted with then-partner Kelli Carpenter in 1999; and daughters Vivienne, 13, born to Carpenter through artificial insemination; and Dakota, 3, adopted in January 2013 by O’Donnell and her then-wife, Michelle Rounds.
