“Deadpool” star Ryan Reynolds, who with his actress wife Blake Lively has been generally close-lipped about their family life, appears to have revealed the gender of their recently born second child.
After host Conan O’Brien on the TBS talk show “Conan” Wednesday night told Reynolds, “You have two daughters and a wife at the house. …That’s a lot of ladies, that’s an intense situation,” the 40-year-old actor jokingly replied, “It is … a lot of estrogen, you know? It feels like An American Girl doll just took [expletive] on my life,” he added lightheartedly, later conceding, “Two under two is tough, yeah.”
While Reynolds had tweeted on Oct. 20 that, “The mobile above my daughter’s crib is just a whole bunch of NuvaRings [birth-control devices]. So she remembers how lucky she is,” it had been unclear if he was referring to the second child, reportedly born Sept. 30 and whose name has not been publicly revealed, or to first daughter James, born Dec. 18, 2014.
“The Shallows” star Lively, 29, took the revelation in stride, posting on Instagram, “The ways I know that @vancityreynolds got himself into huge trouble on @teamcoco tonight: Not only did he come home with my true love, @levain_bakery cookies,” referring to the Upper West Side shop with outlets in Harlem and the Hamptons, “but he personally toasted them for me and brought me a cup of milk WITH ICE. Literal brownie points,” she added, next to a photo of a large, dense chocolate cookie on a plate.”
Reynolds, who has been married to Lively since 2012, also joked about parenthood, telling O‘Brien, 53, “I remember I used to say to my wife all the time … I can’t actually imagine ever loving a second child as much as I love the first. And then that baby comes popping out and I acted like I was totally wrong!”
