Singer Ed Sheeran made one girl's last wish come true when he serenaded her over the phone just moments before her death.
On Tuesday, 15-year-old Triona Priestley of Dublin, who was suffering through the final stages of cystic fibrosis, received the phone call of her dreams from Ed who said hello, and then sang "Little Bird," her favorite of his songs.
Triona reportedly drifted to sleep while Ed sang to her. Just moments after her family hung up the phone with him, Triona died peacefully in her sleep.
Triona's friends and family had started a Twitter campaign with the hashtag #SongForTri, in which they explained Triona's wish to be serenaded by Ed. The effort spread among Ed's millions of fans, and soon enough his manager contacted Triona's friend Lucy Hanlon to set up the phone call.
